Brexit & The closure of our international business
This is a summary of our limitations under Brexit and the Windsor Framework
Northern Ireland — Consumers
We ship to consumers in Northern Ireland as normal. Under the Windsor Framework, parcels sent to Northern Ireland consumers for personal use move without customs declarations or duty, so you order at the checkout exactly as you would from any other UK address.
Northern Ireland — Businesses
We ship to businesses in Northern Ireland. Business-to-business parcels are declared to HMRC’s Customs Declaration Service through the Trader Support Service (TSS), so we need a valid EORI number before dispatch. A UKIMS (UK Internal Market Scheme) number is preferred: it allows goods for use in the UK to move without duty. Both numbers can be entered at the checkout; every business order to Northern Ireland is checked manually before it is dispatched.
Republic of Ireland — Businesses
We supply businesses in the Republic of Ireland by email order. Orders cannot be placed through the website checkout, and an EORI number is required. Contact us with your requirements and we will quote shipping and confirm the customs arrangements for each order.
EU Member States
We do not currently supply consumers or businesses in EU member states. Three costs, taken together, make it unfeasible:
€3 customs charge per item
From 1 July 2026 the EU applies a flat €3 customs duty on every item in a low-value parcel sent from outside the EU. On a typical battery order that charge alone generally exceeds the margin on the goods.
Duplicate duties
Most batteries are manufactured outside both the UK and the EU. Duty is paid once when they are imported into the UK and again when they enter the EU — and again if an item is returned.
Carrier paperwork fees
Fast parcel carriers charge significant fees for customs documentation and clearance on each consignment, over and above the shipping price.
Under review
We keep this under review and will reopen EU supply if the position changes.
