The Xtar MX8 is an eight-slot smart charger designed for environments where multiple rechargeable battery chemistries must be managed simultaneously. Each bay operates independently, applying charge profiles tailored to the cell type inserted. The platform supports 1.5 V lithium AA/AAA rechargeables, 1.2 V NiMH AA/AAA, and 3.6/3.7 V lithium-ion cylindrical cells, making it the first charger in its class capable of handling all three categories within a single system.

USB-C input delivers regulated power to the internal distribution system, enabling consistent charging behaviour across all eight bays. Automatic identification assigns the appropriate voltage and termination method to each slot, while LED indicators provide real-time status feedback. The charger accepts a wide range of cylindrical sizes used in consumer electronics and industrial equipment, and does not impose a maximum battery capacity limit—the charger determines completion based on voltage detection rather than rated mAh.
